    About the artist: Líadan is a 7th century Irishwoman
    born the daughter of a wealthy bóaire in Kerry. She fell
    in love young but was deserted once she was
    discovered to be pregnant. Forced to give up the baby
    and disowned by her family, she fended for herself
    through a bout in slavery and now safely lives in the
    monastic settlement at Clonmacnoise.
