    Illumination and Calligraphy

    Calligraphy and Illumination are
    some of the scribal arts of the
    middle ages. Calligraphy is the
    art of beautiful writing and
    illumination is the art of book
    decoration often encompassing
    historiated initials, vines, scenes,
    and botanical images. Much of
